I’ve had a difficult time finding other xbox live members who play games other than CoD and BF. There are dozens of great games available through Xbox Live Arcade and other older releases that just don’t have many people online for multiplayer. I have not found any websites that have succeeded in getting gamers, who have comparable games, together. Maybe if I list some of my multiplayer games here, there will be one or two people who are also hoping to get in some multiplayer time or even help getting their achievements.
I am interested in the following games:
Castle Crashers
Geometry Wars Evolved^2
Heavy Weapon
Scott Pilgrim
Outland (*beautiful* game)
Crimson Alliance
Street Fighter II
X-Men
Gauntlet
Doom II
Golden Axe
Trouble Witches NEO (I had to buy it because of the horrible dialog)
Quake Arena
Bionic Commando
UNO
Doom
Catan
TMNT Arcade
Double Dragon (some hard to get achievements there)gamertag is keldwud. Feel free to hit me up, just send a message introducing yourself and whatnot.
January 12, 2012 at 10:59 am #26549keldwud, what time zone are you in? I have small children so my play time is limited but I may be able to setup a “community” play date. It would be cool to chat with the users of the site.
From your list I have the following:
Castle Crashers
Geometry Wars Evolved^2
Heavy Weapon
Outland
X-Men
Trouble Witches NEO
Bionic Commando
UNO
TMNT ArcadeJanuary 12, 2012 at 12:12 pm #26555I’m UTC -7 (formerly known as GMT -7 and commonly known as Mountain Standard Time or MST)
I also have limited play time due to 18 credit hours at school and a 3 year old daughter but I have some free time in the following window:
Fridays from 1pm – Sundays at 7pm (any time at all, I am available all hours, even 3,4, or 5am)
possibly the following:
Tuesdays and Thursdays 8am – 12pm
Mondays and Wednesdays 1030pm – 12amI think one to two hours would be sufficient to satisfy any multiplayer sessions. I have a kinect, so video chat is available.
I can also try something during the week but it would be limited to 30 minutes to an hour because I can’t get distracted from my homework.
It’d be great to have either a weekly thing or a biweekly get together. Most sessions would have to be limited to 4 people, though. If we had more, we could all just pick a game and rotate through players with an elimination (i.e. so and so played with this group, match him up with 3 other players he hasn’t gamed with, not elimination as in out of the game) sort of hierarchy so that each player can have a chance to play with each other player. I don’t forsee the need for this immediately, but something to keep in mind in case it explodes and we need to scale quickly.
I’ve found that there are many great multiplayer games on the xbox but it’s very difficult to seek out others to play specific games. There were websites in the past that attempted to solve this issue but none of them ever worked out, unfortunately.
Just wish there were a more intuitive and low cost (i.e. barrier) method of finding other players, maybe built in to the xbox live system itself, but I don’t think that will be happening because they have to follow certain rules since there are many minors on xbox live and they can’t allow users to solicit other users that they don’t know. But it would still be nice to have a browse-able list of gamers by game.
January 12, 2012 at 12:14 pm #26556Oh yeah, playing borderlands this weekend and a bunch of other games at a friend’s house, having an xbox marathon all day Friday and Saturday, so if anyone is interested in participating, let me know so we can get each other added before we start. I’ll have access to a few more games than what I have listed here because my friend has a few games that I don’t have.
